Our removals between the UK and Italy are mainly organised as groupage, sharing space on the lorry with other removals on the same route. This allows us to optimise journeys and keep costs down.
For those with specific requirements regarding timing, our Priority Transport Service is available, offering faster transit times.
For items requiring greater protection, we can produce bespoke wooden crates, specifically designed to suit the shape, dimensions and characteristics of the object.
The crates are made by specialist joiners, using wood that has been treated and certified for international transport, ensuring adequate protection even during the most delicate handling.
This solution is particularly suitable for paintings, sculptures, marble, large glass panels and antique furniture.
It is normal for the volume to vary. At the time of collection, we will check the actual volume of the goods and, if it differs from the estimated volume, the cost will be adjusted in accordance with the volume variation table provided at the time of booking.
Our vehicles are fitted with a volume measurement system, which enables us to determine the actual volume of the goods once they have been loaded. This measurement is clearly documented for the customer and is necessary to declare the volume correctly to the customs authorities.

In addition to the basic RHA (Road Haulage Association) cover included in the transport, you can choose additional insurance cover depending on who is responsible for packing the goods.
TRANSPORT RISK
For goods packed by you. This offers more limited cover, applicable in the event of total loss of a parcel or visible damage to the outer packaging during transport.
ALL RISK
For goods professionally packed by Bolliger. This offers more comprehensive cover based on the declared value, with cover for loss of and damage to goods during transport, subject to the terms of the policy.
Our team will advise you on which cover applies to your goods based on the packing service you have chosen.
RHA (Road Haulage Association) cover is included in the service and provides, in the event of damage or loss, compensation calculated on the basis of the weight of the goods rather than their value.
The cover limit is £0.84 per kg, up to a maximum of £40 per parcel.
If you wish to insure your goods based on their actual value, you can opt for additional insurance cover.
A professional removal service minimises risks through specialist packing, handling and transport.
Insurance provides additional cover based on the declared value of your belongings in the event of incidents covered by the policy.
This is an optional choice, particularly useful if you are moving fragile or valuable items.
For the pallet service, you can choose additional insurance cover called TRANSPORT RISK:
TRANSPORT RISK
Whether you pack the goods yourself or use Bolliger, you can choose to take out Transport Risk cover. The cost is 1.5% of the declared value, with a minimum premium of £30, plus 12 per cent IPT.
Example: if you declare goods worth £5,000, the cost will be £75 + £9 IPT = £84.
Our team will guide you through completing the insurance inventory and selecting the correct cover for your shipment.
The cost depends on who handles the packing and on the declared value of your goods.
TRANSPORT RISK – 1%
For goods packed by you. The cost is 1% of the declared value, with a minimum premium of £100, plus 12% Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).
ALL RISK – 2%
For goods professionally packed by Bolliger. The cost is 2% of the declared value, plus 12% Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).
Example: if Bolliger packs goods with a declared value of £5,000, the All Risk cover costs:
2% of £5,000 = £100
12% IPT = £12
Total insurance = £112
If some of the goods are packed by you and others by Bolliger, the two policies can be combined for the same move.
Our team will guide you through completing the insurance inventory and selecting the most suitable cover.
